 Trieste
is a port city located in the northeastern part of Italy on the
border with Slovenia, overlooking the Gulf of Trieste at the corner
of the Adriatic Sea. The city has a population of about 240.000
residents and is one of Italy's most important ports.
The town is the capital of Italy's northeastern Friulia-Venezia
Giulia region and is about 80 miles east of Venice.
Historically and culturally an international city, Trieste offers
visitors a magic moment, which, for music and theatre lovers lasts
the whole year. Events which make it worth coming to Trieste are
many and here we have picked out just a few, divided by period of
year, according to season or particular occasions.

The venue, called “Polo Natatorio Bruno Bianchi”, is located in
Trieste at about ten minutes from the historical centre of the city.
It hosts three swimming-pools: the diving one (Italia), the 50m
outdoor (Romana Calligaris) and the 50m indoor (Alfredo Toribolo)
where the competitions will take place. |
